My Weigh Ultraship vs. Weighmax Pozo12/7/07 Today we are going to review the Ultraship by My Weigh and the Pozo by Weighmax. These two budget minded postal scales are selling more than any other scale this holiday season, but which one is better? Let's take a look!
So which one offers the best value? Let's compare. Accuracy: During testing both models were well within their range of +/- 2 grams with a 100g weight and a 10Kg weight. We did find that the Ultraship has a slightly better repeatability than the Pozo but the difference was so small that the average consumer would never notice it. Features: The Ultraship wins this category by a country mile. The detachable face makes weighing larger boxes that would normally cover the display a snap. The tube and envelope holders are also nice although they would seldom be used. Both products offer a hold and tare feature, although the buttons on the Ultraship are right up front and easy to use, while the Weighmax scale hides them on either side. Durability: We'll call this one a tie. Both products are made out of ABS plastic, and feature very similar internal hardware. We were unable to find an edge over one or the other because the setup on both models was very efficient and used the same quality of components. Power Options: Both of these scales can run off of batteries, or an AC power adapter. However, the Weighmax Pozo uses an inexpensive 9 volt battery while the Ultraship takes 4 C sized batteries. In addition the Ultraship adapter is an optional accessory that you need to purchase, while the Weighmax Pozo includes the adapter for free. Score a category for the Weighmax Pozo. Warranty: The Weighmax offers a full lifetime warranty, while the My Weigh Ultraship comes with a 30 year warranty. We'll give this category to the Pozo due to the fact that a lifetime can be longer than 30 years, but this is really a moot point. The warranties on both of these scales are outstanding. Price: Here's where the Weighmax Pozo really excels. In general you can find the Pozo for $10 to $20 cheaper than the Ultraship. Our Conclusion? Accuracy and durability are comparable on both models. So this postal scales war really comes down to features. The Ultraship is generally easier to use, and includes some accessories and a detachable face. If you think you will be sending bigger boxes and odd sized items go with the Ultraship. However if you don't need those accessories, save yourself $10 bucks, get the Weighmax and a free AC adapter.
Both of these test scales were provided by Quick Supply.
